Memorial Day Weekend in Virginia...

Bright and early Thursday morning we were on a direct flight from New Orleans to Washington D.C.... What a blessing to gather with family in Virginia for a special Memorial Day weekend... Saturday we will celebrate with extended family and friends the recent marriage of my youngest sister, Jessica to Rick... Meanwhile, the cousins gathered this afternoon and enjoyed fun in various ways, including a pre-dinner run through the sprinkler....

Following dinner, I had the privilege of joining in with the worship team of Mt. Ararat as they rehearsed for Sunday...
It's been a full day already... Looking forward to more family traveling in from all over including Illinois, New York, Florida and elsewhere... Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Waiting + Ministry Opportunity...

While waiting for the school year to finish up this Wednesday, the kids and I created some fun in the backyard... with chocolate milkshakes of course... They played for hours Monday afternoon... I had the pleasure of reading a book on the screened in porch...
Meanwhile, here is an update on a wonderful and practical ministry you may not be familiar with...
It's been a busy month for One for You, One for Her as we get ready for the annual shipment to Moldova.

In the past couple months.....

Ukraine donations provided for 2+ orphanages for a solid year. Haiti donations were sent and will provide for 1/2 year and One Home Many Hopes in Kenya is well taken care of.

Current state of donations....

Over 6,000 sanitary napkins have been collected from Boston Children's employees, Chapel of the Cross congregants, Grace Chapel congregants, Tufts University students, a woman's golf league on the Cape, and many, many other helping hands. We need approximately 6,000 more napkins to reach the Moldova and Haiti goals to provide for approximately 75 girls for one year.

One for You, One for Her will continue to focus primarily on Haiti, Kenya, Ukraine and Moldova. There are hundreds of girls in need in these 4 locations. This donation keeps girls in school, prevents possibly health issues and makes their lives slightly easier.

Busy Days..

Friday is the girls' ballet recital. They have had rehearsal three days this week. Tuesday night was dress rehearsal. Adorable. This ballet thing is serious... ha ha... We're all exhausted.
Inter-mixed are pictures of little friends to display, not only their cuteness, but the various array of costumes...
Ms. Lynn helping the girls prepare for recital...

All the girls do a ballet number and a tap dance number... which requires frantic costume changes by the moms during intermission... ha ha...
The girls are most excited about wearing makeup...

Cuteness, I tell you...

Wednesday, I accompanied James on his field trip to Landrum's Country Homestead. He and his friends had a blast!

The favorite activity - hands down - was gem mining...

Busy days... but what a blessing...
