Seasons...

My favorite season is Autumn. I love the picture below playing with the kids in the leaves. It was the image that came to mind to post as we make plans for a new season ahead. This Sunday we announced our plan to move to Raleigh, North Carolina in May to plant a church and go on faculty at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. To learn more about either of these click on the following: Imago Dei Church and SEBTS.

A Time for Everything

3:1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

2 a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
3 a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.

The God-Given Task

9 What gain has the worker from his toil? 10 I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. 12 I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; 13 also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man.

Just for fun: here is a simple Video the kids made last weekend with Ms. AC...

bitter/sweet news for us here - but it is only exciting to see all of you move on to share and teach all for His Glory! I'll be praying God will provide for your every need to get settled and the church built.

We just spent the past 10 years in North Raleigh before moving here & joining the Temple family. You are gonna love it. We left a wonderful church, Mt. Vernon Baptist off of Falls of the News Rd. Visit there if you need a temp place to worship :) You'll love Pastor Shannon Scott & the church family there. Call me if you need a real estate agent. We had the best one ever in all of our 20 plus moves in the south. ha

Wishing you lots of love as you prepare for this awesome journey.

Wow! Came across your blog through other adopting families and I realized you were southern baptists through some of your posts. I have been praying about talking to the Association in my area about starting adoption grants and orphan ministries in our area. I live about 45 min. from SEBTS and I think its great that you are bringing your witness to the Raleigh area. We may never cross paths, but I know the Lord will use you in a mighty way. We need new church starts since so many churches here are dying out.
