Thursday afternoon, we took the kids out of school a few minutes early in order to hit the road by 3PM to Kentucky...
We decided to venture out a little and try a new route, which included passing through Boone, NC and the Cherokee National Forest...
Lovely and therapeutic... we jammed out to Matt Redman's CD... it was a good time of worship and retreat for us...
Friday was a day of relaxation with much loved grandparents... The boys had to try out Joshua's new baseball bat...
Joshua, as mentioned in a previous post, is quite the talker (and entertainer:-)... whenever he hit the ball he would yell, "That was big time!" So, his new nickname is "Big Time"...
Friday afternoon was full of anticipation for the arrival of Tony's sister (a.k.a. Aunt Lisa), Uncle Ryan, and all the cousins!!! Angela, for a little while there, kept asking every 5 minutes what time it was and when would they be there...
James and Jana played with BB guns...
Joshua played his new Mario Kart game...
We enjoyed the weather and afternoon coffee...
Victoria helped take care of Titus...
And then THEY arrived!!! (With a cooler full of Ale 8 no less!) Joy!!!
Following dinner, it was time to 'take out' the pinata...
Joshua opened his 'cool' presents from his cousins... he was cool indeed... :-)
After pinata time, a bonfire, and smores, the girls headed to Aunt Hazel's house to spend the night. Slumber party!
Mamaw shared a room with all the cousins...
Lisa and I shared tears and laughter until a little after midnight! It was a blast! I have been richly blessed by such a wonderful sis-n-law! Such a blessing... Then, this is what we woke up to:
What a view!
Rolling up the princess sleeping bags...
My first born child... (ha!)
Ryan & Lisa - wish we lived closer!
(As we were making the trip up to KY, our kids shared their wishes, "We want to live next door to Mama & Papaw, and then next door to Aunt Lisa & Uncle Ryan," etc... They proceeded to name ALL the family, which was precious.)
Manny & James getting a few more BB shots in...
Here's group shot of all the cousins (minus two - missed you guys, Adam & Lauren!!!) with Mamaw & Papaw...
We went around the room and everyone shared their favorite part of the weekend. Joshua's answer: "Hitting the donkey!" So, here's a couple videos to let you in on all the laughter...
After the younger kids had their chance to hit the pinata, we decided to play pinata baseball. Uncle Ryan pitched to Simon Derara... It was all hilarious (and well worth the purchase!)

You guys are have TOO much fun! You sure there is not a trunk that I could stow away in and come with? LOL. That pic of Tony drinking coffee looks like he might be ready for an afternoon nap! :)
