The kids were out of school this past Monday for a teacher work day, so I tried to fill it up with a few fun experiences... in fact, I almost forgot to carve our little pumpkin that has been sitting on our front porch this past month -ha!
Angela got everything ready for our pumpkin carving, while Jana and Victoria helped wash the dishes that didn't fit in the dishwasher... That was nice!
James was in the basement doing what he does well, "putting projects together"...
Joshua was all smiles to get his hands on the pumpkin (and get the seeds out to cook)...
Simultaneously, we baked pumpkin bread (in my retro, yet fabulous oven)...
Mr. Happy Pumpkin...
Titus kept his distance uncertain as to what all the squealing was about...
Then it was time to put our costumes on...
James was a dragon from "How to Train Your Dragon" and Joshua was Optimus Prime from "Transformers" (notice his head over James' shoulder, ha ha)...
Jana was a bride, Angela was a snow princess and then we had "Queen Victoria" (who aside from a beautiful dress went as herself... i.e. Queen Victoria... that's her nickname in our home, ha)...
We met friends at CiCi's beforehand where "kids in costumes ate free per paying adult"... Our Me-reeda crew (as we are sometimes called;-) ate for $11!
Micah was the most adorable little monkey I've ever seen... :-)
Despite cold rainy weather, we "poncho-ed up" with umbrellas and hit North Main Street... Notice little Audrey Claire, the sweet pink butterfly...
I'm just going to state the obvious - I did not get good pictures... :-(
A rainy blur of excitement...
When we made it back home, drenched I might add, it was time for warm showers and hot chocolate!
We "made a memory", that's for sure...

I'm loving being able to continue to follow things in the Merida household. The kids are really growing up.
