It's Saturday and I'm having a difficult time believing another week has come and gone?!. A blogpost is better late than never I suppose... :-) We enjoyed a visit from friends, Christy & Rodney, last weekend in from Mississippi. We took them to a few eateries including our favorite Wake Forest spot downtown for Mexican food... We are regulars...
Part of the purpose of their trip was to help cast vision for our new space at Imago Dei Church (utilizing their design skills)...
The kids were particularly sad that their kids weren't able to make this trip. They love Ainsley, Harry and Ella! But, the boys enjoyed Mr. Rodney and the girls enjoyed Mrs. Christy (especially when she gave them her lipgloss to wear - ha! - my girls' love language)...
Design vision casting at our new gathering space for worship (beginning April 1st)!
Even the kids were planning (or plotting, I'm not sure ;-)...
One last meal outing, this time with IDC pastors, before they headed home...
(So grateful for these dear friends!)
James and Caleb cracking me up....
The rest of the crazy crew!
Monday morning I took Joshua for an endodontist appointment. Back at the orphanage in Ethiopia he had fallen and broken his front two 'permanent' teeth. We have been undergoing a series of treatments to try and save his teeth (he has bonds/caps on them). The prognosis is good so far. This doctor thinks one more round of treatments should be good to clean out the roots, cement them, etc...
Had to snap a quick shot of James working on his homework. He is working hard.
To celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday this past week, the 1st graders dressed up with different themes each day. Joshua dressed up on "what do you want to be when you grow up" day as a preacher... ha. Too cute.
Tony took the boys one night to help out at the IDC building 'to be'... James, our resident carpenter to be, was in heaven...
The weather is a bit fickle these days. One afternoon after school, the kids enjoyed snacks outside in the sunshine...
Thursday evening some friends who used to live in Russia and Ukraine made us borscht and varenicki. It was awesome! Now I have a good recipe and look forward to trying it out. Our Ukrainian four were particularly excited!
This week I've re-started my couch to 5K workout. So far so good. Last year, some of you remember, the first day I started I came down with Shingles!
The earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein,
for he has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.
Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from the LORD
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob.
Lift up your heads, O gates!
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD, strong and mighty,
the LORD, mighty in battle!
Lift up your heads, O gates!
And lift them up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts,
he is the King of glory!
(Psalm 24)
