Joshua is playing coach pitch baseball and having loads of fun (especially Tony who is reliving the 'glory days')...
Swing, batter batter, swing!
Last friday morning, Tony awoke to a phone call nobody wants... the news of the death of a loved one... his mom's baby sister... heartbreaking in many ways...
(Ecclesiastes 3:2-6)
Saturday morning, we loaded up our van and hit the road to be with family in Kentucky...
What a beautiful, therapeutic and worshipful trip it is...
We passed through Ridgecrest, Black Mountain and Asheville... a bit nostalgic for both Tony and I... we love that place! The kids, however, were not impressed...
Our frequented coffee shop in Black Mountain:
Isn't it amazing what you can do with Instagram?!.
(Yes, the same picture above and below!)
We stayed in a hotel in Corbin Saturday night. The view from our window (we pretended it was the beach - ha!):
Despite sad circumstances, it was a tremendous blessing to be with family!
Sweet cousins...
(From L to R: Grace, Jana, Manny, Joshua, Beniam, Simon, James, Noah, Angela, Mercy, Victoria)
Cracker Barrel... yum!
Sunday morning at Tony's parents' house...
The funeral was Sunday afternoon. Tony shared Psalm 90...
Joshua loves his cousins and hung particularly close to Simon D this time... (Ethiopian cousins: Eyasu and Derara = love this!)
Monday morning before hitting the road home, my kiddos decided to shoot some bb guns, ha! Watch out! (I would!)
What a glorious view from Tony's parents' porch!
My sweet mom in law, Brenda. Please continue to pray for her and all the family (a husband and two young adult children) continuing to grieve over the loss of Tony's Aunt Judy...
Rocking chair chats... precious memories...
High maintenance dog (just kidding... sort of:)
On the road again with an arsenal of sermons, including Nate Akin preaching at IDC Raleigh Sunday. You should listen to it, too: www.idcraleigh.com
Halfway home faces... even Titus was smiling...
We returned home around 5PM Monday, unpacked, ate dinner and went to Joshua's 7PM game...
This week has been a blur... we walked downtown Wednesday night with a friend and saw this critter along the way...
Thursday night game: my little outfielder
James was building all sorts of creations in the rocks and dirt...
