Celebrate America

Sunday was a special day at church... a day celebrating the grace of God in establishing  our great country... a place where we are free to worship the Sovereign Creator...  May we never take our freedoms for granted!  It was extra special to have our children experience this.  As we watched them wave American flags we thought to ourselves, "They have no idea yet the implications of what it means to now be an American!"  May they grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!  May they take His Name to the nations!

The Mayor of Hattiesburg presented Tony with a proclamation, which was very special...
The girls loved Ms. Joy's puppy named Lucy...

The kids loved the fireworks and fun.  :)
After we put the kids to bed, we started the HBO miniseries "John Adams" for our patriotic enjoyment this week.  If you haven't read the book or seen the series, it is fabulous!

I was privileged to be in church yesterday to share in your special service and to say hello and see your children in person. And then to be back for the evening's activities. Thanks to everyone for the hard work that went into the entire day. At PIB right now, flying home this morning...but will be sure to watch "John Adams" with my husband when I get home! Thanks for the recommendation. Will continue to pray for your family.

Our kids think its neat, all the flags and "sparkley's". Everytime they see a flag they yell "america!"

Celebrate America is a wonderful event at TBC. I have really enjoyed getting to be a part of the choir for the past two years. "Taps" had my hair standing on end because it reminds me of my grandfather, whom I lost to Alzheimers two years ago. He served in World War 2 and in the Korean War. "Taps" was played his military funeral. The song that ment the most to me this year was "Kerie, God Have Mercy." I just think it says exactly how we as Christians feel living in this world. Seeing your children wave flags from the choir loft was absolutely precious. Several of us commented on it as we were leaving the auditorium. They may not understand it all now, but with great parents like you and Tony to show them and guide them, they one way will.
God Bless you and your family this 4th and always,
Sarah Williamson

Page and I were just talking about the John Adams series. We wish we could enjoy it with y'all. We miss hanging out with y'all. The celebration looked like it was a lot of fun. We are hoping to take the girls to something similar on the base this weekend. Hope your week goes well!
